"Memoirs and Reminiscences of Society, Individuals, and Events in the City of Philadelphia and its adjacent neighborhoods, Commencing A.D. 1837" was written by Howard Edwards, a Philadelphia Quaker, from 1887 to 1922. Edwards provided detailed recollections, especially of his physical surroundings and expressed himself strongly on contemporary events and society, which did not meet the standards of his past. Accompanying the narrative are related newspaper clippings and memoranda.
